Hi friends! So, one night I was making spaghetti for my family when I had a craving for French bread. I usually skip the bread and just eat my zoodles but sometimes you just need to fulfil those cravings, so you don’t feel so deprived and just binge out. Everything in moderation!
while I could have simply just eaten a regular slice of French Bread, I decided to make my own batch with a higher protein count and that didn’t take long to make because as many of you know I have four kiddos that love to ask for things every 2 minutes and a teething baby that just wants mama. These Bread sticks have 2 ingredients! Well technically four if you count the garlic and the cheese sprinkled on top.
These 2 ingredients are something you may have already in your home, or at least I keep these in my home. They are self-rising flour and nonfat Greek yogurt!!
– 1 1/4 cup self-rising flour
-1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt (you can use any percentage of yogurt you like, me personally I was going for the lowest calorie. Also make sure it is plain Greek yogurt.)
– Optional garlic and cheese
I won’t go into a lot of explanation on makes these two things work together like magic but from the little I researched online, the lactic acid in the yogurt reacts with the leavening properties of self-rising flour to help the dough rise in the oven. Which makes this the easiest dough ever! No yeast, no rising, no waiting!
Simply mix, kneed of a lightly floured surface and form into your sticks. You don’t have to fancy with it and twist the dough like I did, or you can totally up to you! After my sticks or twists whatever you want to call them were formed, I sprayed them with a cooking spray added garlic and sprinkled some reduced fat cheese on half of them and popped them into a 350-degree oven for 15 – 20 minutes until bottoms are golden brown.

Let me tell you, these did not last long! my family ate them up!! My kids even prefer these over the French bread. So, if you plan on making these make sure you make extra because they are that good!
This dough can be used for many things! You better believe I will be making more recipes using this same dough! Hope you enjoy just as much as we did!
